Brian is a Long Island-based pianist, composer, and musical director. He has been on faculty at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) since 2017, where he serves as a musical director and collaborative pianist for students in the musical theatre program. In addition to being the resident musical director at Sunrise, Brian has worked on productions at the Engeman Theater, the Argyle Theatre, and Plaza Theatrical Productions, among others. Recent production credits include Rent, Mamma Mia, Forever Plaid, and West Side Story.
Brian is also an avid composer, having contributed music and lyrics to original productions Day and Age and Holy Rollers: A Musical Comedy Second to Nun, the latter of which was nominated for Best Score at the New York Theater Festival. The show was performed in concert at The Green Room 42, and is currently being further developed. Brian has written scores for the children's musicals Turkeys Go On Strike, A Big Bad Wolf Story, and Butterfly: The Story of a Life Cycle, which was recently premiered by Plaza Theatrical.
Tommy Scardino is a local musician, actor, and event coordinator with a passion for theatre and the arts. Music has been a huge part of Tommy’s life for as long as he can remember. He started playing instruments in elementary school and got into musical theatre in middle school, which provided an outlet for him to express himself while also discovering his love of acting. What Tommy enjoys most about performing - whether it be a musical, a Shakespearean play, or getting on stage with his band - is that it gives him the ability to entertain and to make others happy.
In addition to working with Sunrise, Tommy channels his love of the arts into Scardino Entertainment, a small business that hosts events and provides top quality live performances of all kinds.
Samantha Janover is a local actress and musician with foundations in administrative management. She started playing the violin 20 years ago and fell in love with theatre during her time at college. Since then, Sam has been involved in over 35 productions, playing several instruments in the pit orchestra, running the sound board, stage managing, and acting on stage. She is committed to all that goes into running a show and is excited to bring her experience, passion, and love for music and the arts to Sunrise.
